Welcome Work at Home Warriors!
We're in the trenches. (Yeah, right). We're working our backsides off for our bosses! (Uh, we have bosses?!). We work at home like slaves for our companies. (Hey, can somebody put another log in the fireplace and freshen up my hot cocoa?) Our families are a mess from all the hard work and stress. (As my daughter hands me a beautiful bouquet of freshly picked dandelions and says "I love you, mommy.", in the middle of the day.")
That's why I do it. What are your reasons?

Is your CREDIT REPORT going to ruin your next hot work at home opportunity?
|
1 in 4 reports contain errors serious enough to prevent someone from getting credit or getting some jobs, including some work at home positions.
|
It's true that those of us who work at home often have a less intense application process because we are afterall, not a very big liability to most companies since we're working at home harmlessly. Some work at home jobs do require the same or even a more rigorous entry process, but many of us who work at home were hired without ever meeting our bosses. But depending on the position, you may go through the same screening and testing process that all non-work at home personnel go through for your same position. This will especially be true if your work at home job will involve access to sensitive information, has special security requirements or requires specific job qualifications.
Whether you work at home or not you may be subject to a background check, including a check of your credit, before being hired.
That may not be so bad for work at home warriors except that a Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) study based on two hundred credit reports reportedly found that one in four credit reports contained errors serious enough to prevent someone from getting a loan or get some jobs, including work at home opportunities that may require security clearance.
- 79% of the credit reports sampled contained mistakes of some kind.
- 54% of the sampled reports contained personal information that was misspelled, outdated or belonged to a stranger
- 39% of the reports of the reports contained credit references that remained on the report even though the accounts had been closed by consumers.
Message? Before applying for that really great work at home position obtain a copy of your credit report and fight vigilantly to remove erroneous information from your report. If your report is wrong, report it to the FTC, your State's Attorney General's Office and/or your congressman so that greater accountability is demanded from reporting organizations. These types of statistics are inexcusable.
